The voices of FrontRow
Meet the voices behind our stories.
From news in their corner of music and tech to gear picks and setup advice, our posts are written by the FrontRow team in a set of house voices, each with their own taste in music and gear. They're writing personas rather than real people, and every recommendation comes from our team's research into the products we sell.

Our voices
Distinct voices, one front row.
New voices join as the catalogue grows.
James Albert
James is our matter-of-fact voice for rock, alt and metal. Shaped by Minneapolis basement shows and an emo and punk phase he'll still happily tell you about, he cares about gear that sounds right and survives the road.
Covers: news from the rock, alt and metal world, plus guitars, amps, PA and live sound.
Chloe Hall
Chloe is our upbeat voice for pop, creators and everything new. She grew up on her mom's Alanis Morissette records, came of age with Olivia Rodrigo and Billie Eilish, and loves gear that makes it easier to create and share.
Covers: news from pop and creator culture, plus podcasting, streaming, headphones and what's new in the store.
Lukas Weber
Lukas is our forward-thinking voice for electronic music and adventure. He grew up hiking the Alps around Innsbruck and catching the train to Munich for raves as a teenager, and now chases festivals, favorite artists and big trails across the US from his home base in Denver.
Covers: news from the electronic and festival scene, plus DJ gear, GPS watches and outdoor navigation.
How we write
Real research, distinct voices.
Written by the FrontRow team
Every post is researched and written by our team, then published in the voice that fits the topic best.
Facts from the source
News is checked against original sources, and specifications come from manufacturers' official documentation.
Honest about trade-offs
If a simpler or less expensive model will do the job, we'll say so. Questions? Our team answers by chat, email or phone.
